Implementation of a Lean Administration project at DSB S-tog.

The IT and project department is controlling a significant budget spent on IT operations, IT services, development and project management, ensuring the development and operations of IT for approximately 2,200 employees of DSB S-tog.

A key feature of the project was to support management in its Lean vision – a vision that emphasises the objective of the IT and project department to assist the business units in realising customer and market goals. What is more, Immenso has highlighted processes and objectives to a new extent for the department, representing a solid paradigm change for an otherwise technically oriented IT department.

The project mapped key improvement and cost savings possibilities, some of which have already been implemented and generated significant impact. The communication of the Lean concepts has been communicated in a relevant and reader-friendly manner for managers and employees, and therefore Lean is well underway as a permanent concept in everyday life at the IT and project department of DSB S-tog.

Lean Administration project at a major Danish insurance firm

Implementation of a Lean pilot project with a number of conventional Lean elements such as process mapping by way of Value Stream Mapping, training of project managers and members, implementation of Kaizen meetings and business case preparation. The focal point of the project was the anchoring of learning among managers and employees.
