Development of distribution and production strategy

Development of Distribution and Production Strategies (UDPS) concept is based on Danish Industries and Sant & Bendix's proven concept that over 500 companies both Denmark and abroad has used. Immenso Consult has developed the concept further, to match the challenges related to distribution and production that our customers are facing today.

Challenges are typical of a structural nature
You will see the challenges through increased competition, changes in sales channels, customers who requires more than just a standard product and by limited access to people with the right qualifications.

They are all symptoms of the challenges, which are structural in nature, and require a long term plan and commitment to change:
• Improper placement of units (production, distribution or service units)
• Lack of systematic training and education
• Lack of standards for the units
• High unit costs
• Low flexibility.

The world is changing faster
This is the most typical reason for why going through an UDPS project. Changed market conditions, increased competition, new products and other external factors puts pressure to “well known” structure for production and distribution. This makes it necessary to redefine the entire chain from order to cash. Going through an UDPS project based on the existing UPS concept will make the difference.

UDPS is based on five well defined phases
• Phase 1: External and internal issues
• Phase 2: Strategy and target setting
• Phase 3: Services, production and distribution task
• Phase 4: Design of reference model
• Phase 5: Planning and Implementation.
Going through the five stages the company will identify future structural requirements as well as a rough estimate of the implementation phase and how this can be done.

Results
In short time the company can get a clear picture of the external factors and their requirements related to the existing structure and the challenges the company is facing.
