Vision and strategy for business improvements

We need a vision and strategy
The organization's operating costs increase, performance is mediocre, handling times are long, and employees and managers are unmotivated. This is a situation many companies find them self’s in. To counteract short term projects are launched and if these projects are successful they result in sub-optimization of isolated work areas, tasks and workflows - without dealing whit the company as a whole.

When the organization does not have a clear vision and strategy for business improvements that brings together all actions and projects, it means that employees a lacking a united goal, and the management of the organization's total business improvements activities are not prober. To develop a vision and strategy for business improvement is needed to bring the organization back on track, and Immenso has extensive experience in facilitation this.

The vision: What should characterize us
What do our customers want? What could we do better? These are some of the questions an organization should ask themselves before efficiency projects are initiated. The phrase "value for the customer" comes from Lean terminology the key is to focus on what customers perceive as qualities of the services or products as quick delivery, no fault on the product, lowest price, customized service / product.

When customer value is identified, we have a better understanding of the role as an organization, and we can shape a vision for business improvements, which also must be based on the company's overall mission and vision after the work can begin to develop the strategy to help us on track to invest properly and work smarter.

The strategy: where to go
If the organization must invest optimally the next 2-3 years, the opportunities must be identified, so the investment can be placed in the projects where the benefit is greatest. Strategic development generally provides a good basis for a discussion of what competencies the organization itself must develop, and what tasks subcontractors should perform. The strategy plans should both support and be coordinated with product and marketing strategy. The strategy plans must initiate development of   goals and action plans which specify the projects to be undertaken to realize the strategy.

Clarity creates commitment
When consistency between the vision, strategy and action plans for business improvements exists we achieve the balance and understanding needed to create greater value for customers. With understandable order from vision to action the organization have a better chance to commit and motivate employees and managers. Working ahead the organization will find that employee satisfaction and customer satisfaction increases - and operating costs decrease.
